FELL ON BLACK DAYS
Soundgarden was introduced to me via my older brother.
When I was in middle school, I would be at one of his apartments and he would do the whole "sit down and listen to this album" thing as an educational experience. Through these sessions, I learned about Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Guns 'N' Roses, Screaming Trees, Shellac, Fugazi, Tori Amos & Soundgarden. From there, I found my own way through the music world. I learned about small punk bands, hip-hop, motown and all of the other things I still love today.
When Soundgarden reformed in 2011, I was asked to do a poster for the tour. I was floored to be able to do something for the writers of Badmotorfinger. In the 90's, as I was learning to draw, I loved sitting in my room and listening to that album. To have it come full circle and have the opportunity to do something for them 20 years after it was written was pretty cool.
